Assistant Camp Teacher

$15-$19 per hour

Assistants must be at least 18, have a high school diploma and some early childhood experience.  This is required by the Department of Health. ALL PAPERWORK MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE JULY 1ST.

  • Assist teachers in providing a safe and caring environment for children indoors and outdoors.

  • Have a clear commitment to Social Justice and Inclusiveness and ideas around implementing these values in the early childhood classroom

  • Please be comfortable with progressive and radical messes, big ideas and wild fun, controlled chaos and lots of laughter.

  • Use kind and caring words with children, families and each other

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of developmental-interactive playful summer camp curricula. Be ready to think on your toes, and build a big bag of tricks!

  • Encourage play and growth in all areas of development: social, emotional, cognitive, linguistic, physical, and creative.

  • Report concerns to teachers or the Directors.

  • Be professional in interactions with children, co-workers, and families.
